FISHY WISHES - Terry de Havilland in collaboration with Mary Benson. Custom Made in London 2015.

A pair of bespoke block heel platform sandals crafted in lime green metallic suede with multi coloured metallic heat fusion transfer detailing designed and created by Mary Benson. Hand clicked, closed and covered by Terry.

When Terry met Mary there was an instant creative recognition between them and he jumped at the chance to work with her. These are one of a series of four pairs, each pair featuring different surface design decoration by Mary. They were considered by Terry to be one of his all time favourite designs.

These were among the last pair of shoes that Terry created and although they were enthusiastically received by both stylists and fashion photographers alike, the shoes were never put into production. They were made just before the company Terry de Havilland Couture Ltd was forced into liquidation in July 2015.

  • GILDED DRAGON Terry and Liz de Havilland. Custom Made London 2007

GILDED DRAGON - Terry and Liz de Havilland. Custom Made in London 2007

A pair of high wedge platform sandals crafted in red kid suede hand printed with a gold metallic dragon motif by Liz de Havilland, featuring Swarovski crystal detailing and gold embossed leather dragon fin back and platform. Hand clicked, close and covered by Terry.

Whilst at Magic Shoes, Liz created a range of hand silk screen printed, hotfoil stamped platform sandals called “Ming”. Over supper one evening, Terry and Liz came up with the idea of using the silk screen prints to create one of his fin back wedges. It is one of our favourite collaborations.
